Joao Eusebio

Bartender profesional de origen Portugués, con 36 años y con una amplia experiencia en el mundo de la hostelería.

Empezó con 15 años en el mundo de la cocina dónde descubrió el amplio universo de los sabores y aromas. Posteriormente pasó por diversos departamentos de food & beverage, con lo que su carrera siempre ha estado dedicada al servicio al cliente y su satisfacción.
Sus primeros pasos en el mundo del cocktail fueron en Londres, donde trabajó como camarero de bar en el Hotel Royal Garden Después, ya en Barcelona, empezó a trabajar en el Dry Martini de Javier de las Muelas, lo que supuso la reafirmación de su verdadera vocación en el increíble mundo de los cocktails que tanto le apasiona.
Además de aprovechar la oportunidad de trabajar y aprender junto a top-bartenders que le enseñaron el concepto de “bartending clásico y moderno”, durante su tiempo en Barcelona Joao fue encargado de abrir uno de los bares más exclusivos de la ciudad: el club privado Mutis contribuyendo a su puesta en marcha y posterior éxito. De hecho, este local fue galardonado en 2011 como mejor bar de Europa y figuró en el nº11 de la conocida lista de los “Best 50 Bars” del mundo. Joao fue también responsable de la elaboración del libro de cocktails de la casa “Jigg it”.

En su siguiente etapa, Joao trabajó para Magatzem Escolá, el mayor distribuidor de bebidas de Cataluña, desde su departamento técnico como responsable de asesoramiento, consultoría y formación de clientes para continuar con el puesto de Craft Spirits Manager para OTC en la categoría del mezcal y destilados, llevando a cabo demostraciones, consultorías y masterclasses a nivel nacional. A este trabajo le sobrevino hacerse cargo de la dirección de Bevegare Program en el exclusivo Casa de Campo Resort & Villas de República Dominicana.

En paralelo, Joao es participante y ponente habitual de varios de los más prestigiosos certámenes de mixología y gastronomía a nivel internacional como el Lisbon Bar Show, el Bar Convent Berlin, el Festival Sabor de Oaxaca o la Spanish Week de Shangai 2014.

Desde su creación en septiembre 2011, Basque Culinary Center trabaja para ser el referente a nivel internacional en estas materias y también para impulsar la gastronomía como palanca de desarrollo socioeconómico a través de la Facultad de Ciencias Gastronómicas y el Centro de Investigación e Innovación.

Jorge Bretón, nos enseñará, a aplicar modelos creativos que se usan en la cocina a elaboraciones líquidas para luego convertirlas en cócteles.
Jorge, es profesor de Innovación culinaria y también participa en el Curso Experto Universitario de Bartender y Coctelería Moderna, la iniciativa de formación del Basque Culinary Center para formar al bartender actual , un curso coordinado por Patxi Troitiño.

March 16, 1973 – August 21, 2015, was the founder of the New York City cocktail bar Milk & Honey

Sasha Petraske was a passionate speakeasy proselytizer back in the 1990s, way before the concept went mainstream. In 1999, with the founding of his landmark bar, Milk & Honey, on the Lower East Side, Petraske opened the doors to the new aesthetic and opened eyes to skillfully made pre-prohibition cocktails. At the time, he was still in his 20s, already influencing a generation of bartenders and drinkers by his sheer love of classic cocktails and historical sensibility. But Petraske was more than a businessman, leader, and beverage industry luminary. He was a husband, brother, son, and beloved member of the cocktail community—and since August of this year, deeply missed by many. Petraske died at just 42 years of age.
